Summertime…a time for sun, fun, vacations, road trips…and this 2 Ingredient Strawberry Watermelon Sorbet!
Fresh Fruits Of Summer
When I was a little girl I would go with my mom to a strawberry patch and we would pick our own strawberries!
It was fun to fill our baskets with vibrant, red, juicy strawberries.
Sometimes I wonder how we ever got our baskets full when we kept eating them…ha!
Watermelon is another delicious, juicy fruit that we see at many picnics and family gatherings.
Strawberries & Watermelon
I don’t know about you, but I love the combination of strawberries and watermelon in a fruit bowl.
There’s something refreshing and delicious about the sweet flavors mixed together.
The soft crunch of watermelon adds a great texture as well.
How Much Watermelon Can I Have?
It is recommended to eat one cup of watermelon in a serving if you follow the Trim Healthy Mama lifestyle.
It is true that watermelon is full of water, but it is also full of natural fruit sugar.
Too much watermelon alone can cause a spike in your blood sugar.
Take care those of you who have issues with insulin.
What To Do, What To Do
I was really wanting to make a refreshing smoothie or sorbet of sorts using these two delicious fruits. Yet, I didn’t want to use too much watermelon.
So I had the bright idea to use one of my favorite drinks…Bai Kula Watermelon.
Bai Drinks
As a side note, I really like the Bai drinks in a variety of flavors.
They are a sipper for the THM so this is a perfect drink to make such an exhilarating treat.
They make a great road trip drink if you get bored of water.
Problem Solved
This part was totally made up and it probably shouldn’t even be called a recipe because, really, it’s only 2 ingredients!
I just combined frozen strawberries with Bai watermelon drink and WOW, what a cool treat!
Frozen Strawberries
Using frozen strawberries work best here.
It adds the icy, creamy texture that you cannot get by using fresh strawberries.
If you don’t have frozen berries on hand and really want to make this, add a few ice cubes. It should turn out fine.
I also like to make this Strawberry Orange Julius with frozen strawberries!
Fuel Pull
Yes, this sorbet is a Fuel Pull. It is low in calories, fat and carbs.
It’s sugar free too, yet it is full of sweet flavors.
Add a bit of protein on the side and you have a yummy afternoon snack.
Maybe you would want it for breakfast with a side of my turkey breakfast sausage.
I can also see making this before bed as a late night snack (if you get the night munchies).
