Chocolate espresso cream pie is rich & decadent. It is a great pie to keep in the fridge or freezer and get out when unexpected company pops in. This low carb dessert has hints of espresso that seem to bring out even more chocolate flavor. If you are a chocolate fan, you must try this recipe.

What Is In Chocolate Espresso Cream Pie?

The main ingredient in this recipe is…you guessed it…chocolate!

It’s hard to believe, but there are actually people out there who do not like chocolate.

That’s ok, though! There are many other flavored cream pies to enjoy.

Another ingredient you may be wondering about is espresso.

You literally add just a little bit of espresso powder to this pie for a deep, rich chocolaty taste.

There are other ingredients that you may already have in your fridge or pantry. They will be listed below.

Does This Chocolate Pie Taste Like Coffee?

Did you know that espresso actually enhances the chocolate?

The dark, rich notes from the espresso powder trick you into tasting darker, richer chocolate flavor in your dessert — but you won’t actually taste the coffee.

The best way to know if you like it is to just make it for yourself!

There’s a good chance you will not taste the espresso…but if you’d like, you can use a bit less espresso powder than what the recipe calls for.

How Should I Store Cream Pie?

You can simply put some plastic wrap over the entire pie dish and place in the refrigerator.

You could also put the leftovers in an airtight container and store in the fridge.

What Sweetener Should I Use In Chocolate Espresso Cream Pie?

There are a variety of low carb sweeteners on the market today.

I chose to use a powdered sweetener so you don’t have a gritty texture in such a lovely, creamy pie.

Trim Healthy Mama has a sweetener called Gentle Sweet.

It has a cotton candy taste, but won’t mess with your blood sugar.

Gentle Sweet is much sweeter than regular sugar, so a little goes a long way.

This is the sweetener I chose to use in this cream pie recipe.
