Can I Use Low Carb Sweetened Condensed Milk In My Coffee?

You could most certainly use this sweet stuff for your coffee too!

There’s really no limit on what you can do with sweetened condensed milk, right?

Only 3 Ingredients

  1. half & half
  2. sweetener
  3. coconut oil

Why Use Half & Half Instead Of Heavy Cream?

Instead of using heavy cream, you can use full fat half & half.

Doing some figures, it just so happens that you are getting WAY less calories by using half & half instead of heavy cream.

So you will save many calories by just switching this one ingredient!

Vanilla Extract Is Optional

Adding just a tiny bit of vanilla extract will give this sweetened condensed milk a fabulous flavor!

I let my 4 year old lick the spoon after giving it a stir…he jumped up and down with excitement because it was something sweet!

He’s got a big sweet tooth (just like his mother).

I have several recipes that use this Clean & Healthy Sweetened Condensed Milk.

Here are just a couple!

What Sweetener Is Best To Use

When it comes to sweetener, feel free to use 1/2 cup of sweetener that is equivalent to 1/2 cup of white sugar.

If you have a granulated sweetener like Swerve or Monkfruit classic, I suggest you grind it into powder.

Why powdered sweetener?  Well, as this sweetened condensed milk cools and firms up some in the fridge, it may crystalize if you use a granulated sweetener.

You will get the creamiest condensed milk by using powdered sweetener!

Go Ahead And Make Extra…You’ll Be Glad You Did

This recipe makes  approximately 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk.

With the holidays right around the corner, there are tons of sweets just waiting to be eaten…only now you can eat them without all the guilt!

It probably wouldn’t hurt to go ahead and make a double or triple batch of this since it lasts in the fridge for up to two weeks.

It can also be frozen.  It thaws out nicely and is just as good in recipes!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Half & Half
  • 1/2 cup low carb sweetener, equivalent to white sugar (I recently used 1/2 cup of this monkfruit blend and love it...just be sure to grind any granulated sweetener into powder for the creamiest condensed milk)*SEE NOTES (you can also use a heaping 1/4 cup of Gentle Sweet)
  • 1 Tablespoon refined coconut oil (refined does not have flavor of coconut)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla , optional

Instructions

  1. Add half & half, sweetener and coconut oil to saucepan.
  2. Stir and cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil.
  3. Stir often until this mixture reduces to about half and is thicker in consistency. It takes about 40 minutes. Mixture will boil alot, but just keep stirring!
  4. Add vanilla if using and stir.

Notes

I use Monkfruit classic as my sweetener of choice, but feel free to use xylitol or Gentle Sweet . It just need to be equivalent to 1/2 cup of sugar. *Update > whatever sweetener you use, it's best to grind it to powder or use a powdered sweetener like Gentle Sweet. This helps your sweetened condensed milk not to crystalize when it firms up in the fridge.

This sweetened condensed milk will solidify as it cools. Place in an airtight container or mason jar and store in the fridge, and when ready to use, let it sit out or microwave it for 15 seconds.

You can make this ahead of time if you wish as well as double the batch.
