Let’s just say that the flavors in my creamy broccoli and chicken meal are outright phenomenal!!!
Creamy Broccoli And Chicken
Yes, I am pretty excited about my latest recipe! When I tasted the sauce in the pan, I knew it was going to be a winner!
Usually, my husband does not care for cooked broccoli and cauliflower.
I kept that in mind when making this supper meal. Nevertheless, I was hoping for the best!
I love broccoli and cauliflower, so it was easy for me to LOVE this recipe!
Chicken and broccoli usually go so well together. As a result, thoughts of stir fry meals and casseroles come to mind as well.
Whisk That Cream
For this sauce to be creamy, it takes a little bit of whisking or stirring.
The cream, broth and seasonings start to thicken as it cooks.
In fact, adding the chicken and broccoli would be fine at this time.
Prepare The Chicken Ahead Of Time
You can most certainly cook the chicken ahead of time to save a little time.
Actually, I used about 1 and 1/2 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts and sliced it thin.
As a result, it came out to be a little over 2 cups of cooked chicken.
Next, I sprayed my non stick skillet with a bit of olive oil and tossed the chicken pieces in to fry.
You could season them with salt and pepper at this point if you wish.
Having a bag or two of shredded chicken in my freezer for quick meals like this one is so convenient.
Here’s a great way to shred your chicken from Wholesome Yum.
Have extra chicken on hand? You may also like to make my smoked paprika chicken or creamy chicken and vegetables!
On the other hand, freezing extra cooked chicken is an awesome thing too. Quick dinners coming up!
Broccoli – Fresh Or Frozen
In this recipe the broccoli can be fresh or frozen.
I used a 10 ounce bag of frozen broccoli pieces.
To be honest, I’ll probably buy the florets next time.
Those broccoli stems do tend to be pretty tough and not very pleasant to chew!
Finally, I just took them out of the pan!
If using fresh broccoli, I would use around 2 cups to start out. Once you add the chicken and broccoli to the sauce, you can judge the amount of extra broccoli you need.
What Can I Eat Alongside Creamy Broccoli And Chicken?
Personally, I just eat it as is sometimes! A simple side salad would be a nice addition.
My oldest boy loved this dish and wanted to keep eating it; therefore, it will most definitely become a staple on the menu.
A big thumbs up came from my husband (you know, the guy who doesn’t care for cooked broccoli?) Yay!!!
If you would rather not have salad as a side, help yourself to some sort of non-starchy veggies. For instance, green beans, cauliflower or cucumbers.
Maybe you would even prefer a smoothie.
Eventually, you will know exactly what to serve with this meal. Make something that will satisfy your taste buds.
