So easy that you only need one bowl to mix everything in, and one dish to bake it in.

The Best Sugar Free Barbecue Sauce To Use 

Because this recipe is sugar free, it is best to use a sugar free bbq sauce if you can.

You can use a store-bought bbq sauce, such as G. Hughes Sugar Free BBQ Sauce

If you have a favorite homemade sugar free bbq sauce, go ahead and make it!

I chose to make and use Mrs. Criddle’s Kitchen Sweet Southern BBQ Sauce!  

She has an option to make it thicker so that’s what I did. 

It is amazing.  Mild and not too spicy!

Ideal Cheese To Use For This Low Carb BBQ Chicken Dip Recipe

This part is totally up to you and your taste buds!

Honestly, there are so many amazing flavors of cheese, that you can use just about any of them in this recipe.

My family enjoys smoked cheddar cheese, so that’s what I chose to use.  

You are welcome to try anything from sharp cheddar to Colby jack. 

Pepper jack sounds nice, especially with the bit of heat it provides!

Make it your own with your favorite cheese. 

Combine a couple flavors if you wish.

 

 

 

Chicken Can Be Made Ahead Of Time

An easy way to be prepared for any recipe that calls for cooked chicken is to cook it ahead of time.

Spend a couple of hours one day just cooking your chicken.

(tip:  using your Instant Pot to cook a lot of chicken saves time)

After it’s been cooked and cooled, simply cut your chicken into bite size pieces or shred it, depending on recipes you’re using it in.

Measure one or two cups of cooked chicken and place in freezer bags.

Date them and set in your freezer until ready to use!

If you are short on time and need convenience, buying a rotisserie chicken at the grocery store is always a good option!

What Can I Eat With This Dip?

Because it is low carb, you may want to stick with low carb veggies or homemade low carb tortilla chips.

Here are a few optional low carb foods to eat with this bbq dip:

  • cucumber
  • celery
  • bell peppers

If you’d like homemade low carb tortilla chips, here’s all you need to do!

First, cut a low carb tortilla wrap (like Mission Low Carb or Joseph’s Lavash Bread) in small triangles or squares.

Next, spray them with coconut oil or butter spray and lightly sprinkle mineral salt on the tops.

Finally, place pieces of tortilla wrap on a paper towel or paper plate in the microwave for thirty seconds.

Depending on the size of your chip, you may have to microwave them for a bit longer.

The end product will be crunchy and delicious like a chip!

How Do I Store Leftover Easy BBQ Chicken Dip?

If you are lucky to have any leftovers, you can store it in any airtight container in your refrigerator.

When you’re ready to eat leftovers, simply warm it up in a microwavable safe dish and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar free BBQ sauce (see notes)
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, cut in tiny pieces or shredded
  • 1 cup shredded smoked cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In medium bowl, mix cream cheese and BBQ sauce until combined.
  3. Add chicken and cheese then stir well.
  4. Spoon mixture into pie dish.
  5. Drizzle top with extra BBQ sauce and shredded cheese.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes.

Notes

I used Mrs Criddle's Kitchen homemade BBQ sauce for this recipe!

If you prefer to use store bought, G. Hughes is a good sugar free BBQ sauce and can be found in most grocery stores.
