Easy Cold Brew Coffee

If there’s one thing we all love about preparing food and drinks, it would be the convenience and simplicity of making it.

Cold Brew Coffee Vs Iced Coffee

For your information, cold brew coffee did not become popular in recent years.

In fact, it started way back in the 1600’s when the Dutch traders would take it on their ship with them during long voyages.

In case you’ve never heard of or tasted cold brew coffee, I want to be the first to tell you that it is not the same as pouring hot coffee over ice to make iced coffee.

No, this wonder coffee (cold brew) is made by steeping freshly ground coffee in cold water for 12-24 hours.

Steeping coffee grounds in water for a long amount of time will give you a less acidic and less bitter coffee, with a more mellow taste.

Cold brew coffee has an incredibly silky smooth and rich flavor, all the while, having more caffeine than a regular cup of coffee.

How To Make Homemade Cold Brew Coffee

There are many websites with information on how to make your own cold brew. Here is just one of those blogs that explain how it’s done.

If you choose to make your own, I highly recommend using this cold brew coffee filter.

You just place it in a 1/2 gallon mason jar (I have wide mouth Mason jars), fill the filter with the proper amount of coffee grounds then simply pour water over the grounds till the mason jar is almost full.

Of course, you will still wait 12-24 hours, then take out your filter, and you have the perfect cold brew coffee right in a half gallon jar.

What Is Easy About Cold Brew Coffee?

Making cold brew coffee itself is not necessarily hard…it just takes quite a bit of time!

At times we all need our coffee right NOW, correct?

Well, for this “recipe”, there is no need to make your own homemade cold brew.

What Do I Need To Make This Cold Brew Coffee?

Every ingredient can be bought at your local grocery store, so that’s a big plus!

  • a bottle of your favorite cold brew coffee (in the refrigerator section of the store)
  • cashew milk
  • heavy cream, optional
  • sweetener, optional
  • ice
  • 1 pint jar with lid/straw (or a Cuppow which is super cool to have)

How To Make An Easy Cold Brew

It’s ridiculously simple…

Make sure your cold brew coffee and cashew milk have been in the fridge getting nice and cold.

Pour several ice cubes in your glass jar.

Next, pour cashew milk about halfway up the jar.

Then, pour the already-prepared cold brew in your glass leaving room for heavy cream.

Top it off with just a splash of heavy cream. Now this is only for those who love a creamy cold brew coffee.

Leave the heavy cream out if desired.

Coffee The Way You Love It

The simple truth is you can literally make your cold brew coffee the way you like it.

If you love sipping a dark coffee with no cream or sweetener, just replace the cashew milk with cold water and don’t add anything else except coffee.

Maybe you prefer a sweet coffee? No problem…just make your cold brew by filling a glass jar halfway with ice and water, then fill the rest of the way with your cold brew…adding the sweetener of your choice.

You get the idea. Own your coffee and be ready to take on the world!!
