Is Fudge Really More Popular In The Winter Months?

Fudge recipes usually tend to come alive during the Fall and winter months.

Have you ever wondered why it is more prevalent during those two seasons of the year?

From a bit of research I’ve done, it seems that people tend to stay in the comforts of their warm, cozy homes during the cooler seasons.

Because of cooler weather and getting dark earlier in the day, it is natural to think of being bundled up by a warm stove, drinking hot chocolate.

Comfort Foods Come To Play

Who else loves comfort food in the cooler months?

Anything from cheesy casseroles to homemade chocolates and fudge…Mmm!!

There have been studies showing that people eat a little more during the winter.  Why?

Well, it’s been said humans go into “winter survival mode” just as many animals do.

Whether you want to believe it all or not, comfort food seems to be more prevalent in these two seasons.

Fudge is always a great treat to have on hand.

It’s probably a good thing we don’t eat comfort food all year.

There are too many delicious calories in those heavy, creamy, cheesy meals and desserts!!

Do I Have To Add Heavy Cream?

Adding a little heavy cream is optional, but it gives it a bit more creaminess.

If you’re using dark chocolate, it will lighten it up a bit.
