Crunchy, crispy, deliciously addictive! Yes, that is how I would describe a new product I tried recently called The Good bean.
There are times when I really just want a good savory snack. Most of the time I think of a sweet snack (because I have the biggest sweet tooth EVER!!), but every once in a while I get a craving for something different, something crunchy with a bit of savory flavor!
Enter The Good bean!!! I was honored to receive a couple products in the mail to test and review here on my blog. The Good bean company is new to me so I was definitely anxious to give their snacks a try. They sent me two (6 oz) bags:
Classic Hummus Crunchy Chickpeas — I’m sure many of you have heard of or even made some roasted chickpeas before. I was very impressed with the taste factor going on with these beans. They give a pop of yummy hummus flavor with each bite! There are 6 grams of protein in each serving…that’s bean protein right there! These chickpeas are indeed crunchy and well, I don’t like to say I’m addicted to food, but I found myself reaching for the bag for just another bite! Let me tell you that each 1 ounce serving equals to about 1/3 of a cup. That’s quite a few and they will keep you satisfied with their punch of protein.
Balsamic Herb Crispy Favas + Peas — I’ll be honest, I’ve never heard of a fava bean…have you? No time like the present to try them though! They are better known as a field bean, related to the pea family and are native to North Africa southwest and south Asia. I actually really liked this snack alot! I think it’s because they are a flatter bean and crispy (kinda gave me the impression of eating chips). The peas are a nice addition as well. The serving size is about the same as the chickpeas…1 ounce per serving, which is more than you might think.
What I love about both of these snacks is that they had a powerful crunch to them. If you like crunchy snacks, these would be perfect. I’m thinking great road trip snacks!
I always want to mention that because this is a Trim Healthy Mama blog some of the food reviews I do are a personal choice or maybe even off plan for the trim healthy mama. There are those out there who can eat a small portion of these sorts of healthy snacks and not have weight issues, but do remember to listen to your own body! The Good bean products are a great alternative to unhealthy junk food for sure! So check out their website and if you ever see The Good bean snacks in your local stores, give them a try.
