The creamy, slightly crunchy, -good for you- homemade peanut butter with chia & flaxseed that is so addicting…you can eat it with a spoon!!!
Homemade Peanut Butter With Chia & Flaxseed
Yes, I love peanut butter!! If you’ve followed me for any amount of time, you know that I do.
As a matter of fact, I have two delicious recipes that have peanut butter in them.
The first one is my Peanut Butter Chocolate Fantastic Fudge–yum!! The second recipe is my Peanut Butter Maple Fudge Swirl! Both of these recipes are so yummy!
Homemade PB Is The Bomb
I’ve been making my own homemade peanut butter for several years now. My family just enjoys the natural peanut butter much better than any store-bought.
There are several store-bought brands of peanut butter that are very good, but I have found that it is just as good to make it at home (and it’s fun to watch the process)!!
Watch It Spin
It’s amazing to see peanuts being crushed in the food processor. At first it looks like it will never turn to creamy peanut butter, but WAIT FOR IT! Given several minutes to whirl around, the oils from the peanuts eventually start coming out and then, my friends, you’ve got peanut butter!!
Very cool to watch.
Introducing Chia & Flaxseed
Why look, here comes chia seeds and ground flaxseed to join the peanut butter party.
Whoever thought of putting chia and flaxseed with peanut butter?? I don’t know, but it was a stupendous idea! Why not add MORE great fats to fat?
I know that several stores sell jars of peanut butter with chia seeds and flaxseed. If you have ever tried it, let me know what you thought in the comments.
I used 1/4 cup each of ground golden flaxseed and chia seeds along with a 16 oz container of dry roasted peanuts without salt. It’s great to add my own salt as well…I can taste as I go and add more if needed.
How Can I Use This Homemade Peanut Butter With Chia & Flaxseed?
This peanut butter spread can be used in an S meal or snack…or a crossover if that is what suits your fancy! 🙂
Smearing it on 1 slice of sprouted toast would be a delightful S helper.
Remember that peanut butter is higher in calories so try not to eat the whole container in one sitting…ha!
