Strawberry Almond Truffles Are Sweet Yet Sugar Free
When you think of a sweet treat, you may wonder if it healthy for you.
Maybe you’ve heard all your life that sweets are bad for you?
So how can these truffles be sweet without having sugar in them?
Well, there’s really no science behind it…but there are several low carb sweeteners out there that are good for you!
The sweetener of choice for this recipe is called Gentle Sweet.
Gentle Sweet is a sweetener created by a company called Trim Healthy Mama (I’ll tell you more about them later).
This sweetener is a mixture of erythritol and pure stevia extract powder, and it is much sweeter than sugar so a little goes a long ways!

What Ingredients Do I Need To Make Strawberry Almond Truffles?
With only six ingredients in the entire recipe, you can have around 7-8 truffles done in no time!
- THM strawberry whey protein powder
- THM Gentle Sweet
- natural almond butter
- mineral salt
- vanilla extract
- cashew or almond milk
What If I Don’t Have Almond Butter?
This recipe calls for almond butter but you can use whatever nut or seed butter you have on hand.
Peanut butter is always a great substitute, as well as this homemade walnut butter.
Do I Have To Form These Truffles Into Balls?
Absolutely not!! You could easily mix everything and eat it right from the bowl.
If you like to keep track of calories, fat grams, net carbs and so forth, then having them portioned out into balls is a great option!

Are These Truffles Dairy Free?
While the protein powder used in these truffles contains whey, undesired particles, such as lactose, cholesterol and even any de-natured fractions, are successfully removed.
This means even those with dairy sensitivities can often enjoy the Trim Healthy Mama whey protein.
If your only issue with dairy is the lactose, then you should be able to use the THM protein powders, as they do not contain lactose.
Maybe you would rather be safe and not ingest any dairy whatsoever.
A great dairy free protein powder to use is Jay Robb Egg White protein powder.

Are Strawberry Almond Truffles A Good Pre-Workout Snack?

That’s right…one truffle is considered a Fuel Pull for the Trim Healthy Mama.
There are not enough grams of fat in 1 truffle for it to be an S.
A THM S is food that has 5 or more grams of fat.
You are more than welcome to have more than one truffle in a setting, but just know that having 2 or more will put you in S territory.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup THM strawberry whey protein powder
- 2 Tablespoons THM Gentle Sweet
- 3 Tablespoons natural almond butter
