Is A Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie Low Carb?
This recipe is not low carb because it calls for half of a banana and old fashioned oats.
Using healthy carbs in your meals and snacks will give your body energy.

How Does My Body Process Healthy Carbohydrates?
Your digestive system breaks down carbs into glucose or blood sugar. Your bloodstream absorbs glucose, therefore fueling your body and giving you energy.
The amount of carbs you consume affects your blood sugar. Many times people can eat healthy carbs and be fine, while others may have a rise in blood sugar levels if they consume too many carbs.
Ultimately, you need to listen to your body! If you have blood sugar issues, just be careful how many healthy carbs you eat.

Oatmeal In My Smoothie?
If you have never tried raw oats in your smoothie, this may be a new adventure for you.
This recipe can be compared to overnight oats (in my opinion).
I used to make overnight oats a lot in the evenings when I knew I would be traveling early in the next morning. It’s perfect for on-the-go.
It has the texture of ground oats, but it’s really good! As a matter of fact, if you make it and let it sit in the fridge overnight, it will thicken up even more!
If you love overnight oats, you’ll probably love this smoothie.

Can I Use Other Berries Besides Strawberries?
Absolutely, you can use whatever berries you have on hand! Frozen fruit is very helpful in smoothies to keep them cold without using ice cubes, which can water it down.
Mix and match if you like. Use half strawberries, half blueberries…or raspberries. It will all still be delicious!
