If you like strawberries and oranges, you’ll love this sugar free version of a well-loved drink…known as my Strawberry Orange Julius.
Childhood Memories of a Favorite Drink
Growing up, my family would frequent a mall near our hometown. In this mall was a little store called Orange Julius. I remember making occasional stops there and ordering the drink they are famous for…orange julius! It was my dad’s favorite! They had other flavor combinations, such as strawberry orange julius, but the original was always what our family ordered.
Add Protein for Extra Boost
As I got older I ventured out and ordered some other flavors of this julius. Strawberry was so yummy that all these years later I wanted to re-create a healthier version!
Strawberry Facts
Did you know that strawberries are full of antioxidants and vitamin C? They also have the ability to fight off cancer cells as well as protect us from heart disease. There is so much more I could write about the benefits of strawberries. you can read more from Dr Axe right here.
My recipe does not have any protein in it, but you could always add a scoop of your favorite protein powder!
Strawberry Orange Julius is so delicious when it is first mixed up in the blender, but after sitting for several minutes, it has an almost creamy texture! I was quite impressed!!
If you’ve ever had an Orange Julius or want to relive all the flavors without all the sugar, please give this strawberry orange julius recipe a try (then let me know what you think).
