Brain food at its best…walnut butter is going to rock your world!!
Heads & Brains
Have you ever looked…I mean REALLY looked at a walnut? There is something very significant about this tree nut. The outer shell of a walnut looks very similar to a human head. Interesting, right? I’ts not ususally thought about in that way. What’s better is when you crack the shell open, the meat resembles a brain. Neat!
No wonder it is called brain food. Walnuts contain more Omega-3 fatty acids than any other nut. These good fats do wonders for our brains and hearts.
Benefits Of The Walnut
- Weight Management
Snacking on walnuts or walnut butter can help us feel full. When we feel full, we won’t reach for any unnecessary food out of boredom.
- Sleep Regulation
Walnuts are known to have natural melatonin, which can help you sleep better. (who wouldn’t want that benefit?)
- Skin Care
Because of the vitamin E present in walnuts, they are helpful in preventing dry skin and wrinkles! (sign me up!!) There are even walnut scrubs you can buy that help exfoliate the skin, making it feel fresh.
- Hair Care
Eating walnuts can give us healthy hair as they strengthen hair follicles and makes scalp dandruff free. Another benefit is stronger, longer hair!

Show Me The Recipe
There are so many other benefits of the simple walnut, but onward and forward to my recipe! The method for making walnut butter is the same as my homemade peanut butter. Pouring the nuts into my food processor and whirling it around until it becomes creamy.
Walnut Butter & Jelly?
How does a WB & J sandwich sound? Pretty silly compared to good old PB & J!! Many people in the world today have an allergic reaction to peanuts. Some family members on my husband’s side could have serious physical issues if they ate just a tiny peanut. If you know someone like that, maybe suggest walnut butter. Not having checked prices, but I’m pretty sure walnuts are somewhat cheaper than even almonds.
All You Need For This Recipe
Simple…1 ingredient. Walnuts!! Of course I add salt and sweetener to mine, but you can definitely eat it plain as well.
Have you heard of walnut butter before? Would you consider trying it? It is actually quite tasty! Just knowing how wonderful walnuts are for my health makes me want to eat walnut butter all the time!
